About the Manager, Consultant Relations at Headspace
Headspace is seeking a Manager, Consultant Relations to lead and champion our work with national and regional health benefits consultants. This role focuses on transforming mental healthcare by engaging and educating consultants about our solutions, increasing Headspace visibility, and driving consultant-generated sales opportunities.
The Manager will develop, implement, and oversee growth and retention strategies for the Consultant Relations department and manage the team of Consultant Relations Managers. This includes setting priorities, coaching on influence and deal activation, and ensuring consistent execution of plans across firms and regions.
What you will do- Own and deliver against a defined consultant-influenced pipeline target, partnering with Sales to ensure pipeline coverage, deal activation, and progression through the funnel.
- Increase Headspace visibility with subject-m matter experts and high-value partners through virtual and onsite meetings and events.
- Establish and maintain a disciplined engagement cadence with priority consulting firms, including executive meetings, quarterly business reviews, joint account planning, and signature events.
- Track, analyze, and report consultant-influenced pipeline performance, including sourced and influenced opportunities, and communicate progress, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.
- Build and manage an operating rhythm for consultant relations, including annual planning, quarterly priorities, and monthly execution across activities, events, and deal support.
- Develop understanding of our solutions and capabilities to expand the broader conversion around mental health strategies with benefits consultants and brokers.
- Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of Consultant Relations Managers, including goal setting, prioritization, development planning, and feedback tied to pipeline impact and execution quality.
- Allocate team resources across consulting firms based on strategic importance and revenue potential, adjusting coverage as priorities evolve.
- Develop growth strategies and execution plans that drive consultant-influenced pipeline growth and deliver high-quality revenue opportunities to the sales team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders from Sales, Product, Marketing, Client Success and Operations to execute against OKRs.
- Develop and negotiate partnerships with national consulting houses and preferred vendor status agreements.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in the employer healthcare benefit consultant/broker space.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams with measurable outcomes.
- Experience in channel, consulting strategy, or business development.
- Strong track record of sourcing, developing and maintaining partner relationships.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with proven success in strategic account management.
- Deep understanding of the health/benefits landscape.
- Self-starter, reliable team player who delivers quality projects on time.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment with multiple projects and urgency.
- Working closely with sales to create down-funnel opportunities.
- Ability to travel 25%-30% of the time.
Preferred
Skills:
- Experience managing a team, creating strategy and delivering results.
- Past experience as a consultant relations manager in digital health, carrier, or employee benefits.
- Experience building and executing a regional strategy.
- Knowledge of Salesforce.
We are currently hiring this role remotely in the US and hybrid for San Francisco (SF). Candidates must permanently reside in the US. For candidates with a primary residence in the greater SF area, this role will follow a hybrid model with three in-office days per week and remote work for the remainder. The anticipated new hire base salary range for this full-time position is $124,000-$170,000 plus variable compensation, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges reflect geography and experience; specifics will be discussed during the hiring process.
