Head of Pulp and Energy Sales & Services- North America

Are you ready for the next step in your career? Valmet’s Pulp, Energy and Circularity Business Area, PEC, is responsible for Valmet’s full lifecycle offering for Pulp and Energy customers. The business area governs the development of new technologies and services towards the customer segments.

We are looking for the Director, PEC Services, NA
, leading North America’s Sales and Service operations. In this role you have the responsibility for driving profitable business growth in the area in line with the Pulp, Energy and Circularity’s strategic objectives for stable business growth. You will be responsible for the customer services including improvement projects, spare- and process parts, site- and expert field services and workshop services. Key priorities will be to ensure high efficiency, profitability improvement and long‑term customer satisfaction in business execution.

In addition, the Area and Regional sales will be supporting key account management and customer dialogue for new CAPEX investments where the organization will collaborate closely with the technology sales and product experts in the key technologies.

You understand the value of building long term customer relationships because financial success comes only through delivering high-level service. Your in‑depth understanding of the customer market alongside your wide business network gives you credibility during sales negotiations. You are flexible to adapt and meet inevitable changes in circumstances, whilst providing clear direction to your organization, securing delivering long term plans.

The role is part of Pulp, Energy and Circularity Services Global Management team. This position is new.

• Profit and loss responsibility for Pulp, Energy and Circularity Service in the Area
• Implement the strategic objectives of Pulp, Energy and Circularity for stable business growth
• Collaborating closely with key stakeholders across Valmet’s organization, in order to move the business forward
• Lead and develop a distributed international organization of professionals across multiple functions, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation where individuals can grow and develop over time

• Excellent understanding of the Pulp and Energy business segments, technologies and market in the Area
• Proven track record of identifying, developing and motivating people to meet business targets and successful management experience of leading multicultural teams in an international environment
• You are a good communicator who can translate corporate mission and strategy into concrete action plans, where everyone knows what, when and how they contribute to success.
• Strong business acumen, understanding the business financials and strategic mindset with the capability to develop and execute innovative growth strategies that adapt to changing market dynamics
• Good interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with teams, stakeholders, and partners at all levels
• Extensive experience in managing sales and operations of our business
• Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrating resilience and agility in the face of challenges
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English, both written and oral, are a must. Other languages are an asset.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time and some internationally
• Master’s or Bachelor's degree in a related fields.
