The Land and Regulatory Analyst supports the management of land assets and regulatory compliance by maintaining accurate land records, analyzing lease and title documents, and tracking financial and contractual obligations. This role plays a key part in lease administration, ownership analysis, and operational support, while coordinating with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with agreements, regulatory requirements, and development activities. This position also contributes to acquisition and divestiture efforts, land‑owner relations, and reporting to support informed decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities Land Data Management- Maintain and update land systems and databases with lease, ownership, and well information
- Organize and update land files, property schedules, and payment schedules
- Data entry and analysis of title documents for mineral, leasehold, surface, and royalty interest owners
- Track lease obligations, expiration dates, and key provisions
- Assist with due diligence for acquisitions and/or divestitures
- Assist with ownership calculations and acreage summarizations
- Review title opinions and assist with ownership determinations
- Track title curative requirements and follow up with internal teams
- Support preparation of division of interest owners
- Support well permitting and operational land requirements
- Coordinate with Land, Permitting and Operations teams on development activities
- Track new wells, permits, and regulatory filings
- Assist with due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures
- Prepare acreage summaries and ownership reports
- Help organize data rooms and transaction materials
- Assist with regulatory filings and documentation
- Track mining claims, exploration permits, area permits and licenses
- Maintain compliance with lease terms and operational requirements
- Prepare routine land reports and ownership summaries
- Assist in generating acreage, lease status, and obligation reports
- Coordinate and assist in generating materials for surveys
- Act as a collaborative partner across Geology, Land, Legal, and Permitting & Regulatory teams
- Coordinate with third‑party brokers, land teams, and external land service providers to support land projects and development activities
- Organization skills for both hard and electronic files
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability: collect and research data; use intuition and experience to complement data; work experience with the Bureau of Land Management and other state and county agencies
- Written communication: write clearly and informatively, present data effectively in spreadsheets, and read and interpret written information
- Verbal communication: speak clearly and persuasively, listen, clarify, and respond to questions
- Professionalism: positive attitude, respect, and consideration
- Interpersonal skills: work with multiple departments to organize and prioritize needs, support team efforts to complete tasks
- Prolonged sitting required, with ability to operate office equipment which may include lifting of up to fifteen pounds, bending, and standing
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the company will be required at all site facilities
- Remote land and field locations require travel on unpaved roads and uneven terrain
The role is structured around a hybrid work environment, with approximately 70% of time spent in an office setting and 30% dedicated to travel. This position requires periodic travel to company offices in Corpus Christi and Dallas, as well as to project sites and land properties across South Texas and other business locations, as needed to support operations. When not traveling, work may be performed remotely from a home office.
Travel requirements are driven by business needs and are expected to be a consistent and meaningful component of the role.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in land administration, lease analyst, or other land‑related positions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on Word and Excel, including ability to set up complex spreadsheets
- Skilled in computer functions, proficient in creating and generating computer reports related to lease records
- Valid driver’s license
- Membership with the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL)
- 3–5 years experience in energy, mining, infrastructure, or similarly regulated industries
