This will be a remote position. We prefer a candidate within 3-4 hours of Johnson City, TN. Travel will be 40–50% to various locations visiting potential/present clients and manufacturing plants. Use this description for application.
Seeking a Director of Sales/Business Development to architect and implement structured growth and customer engagement strategy. This role is ideal for someone who is strategic, ethical, and self‑starting, ready to create the systems, processes, and relationships that will support their continued expansion including both the commercial construction and the service division. The director will report directly to the President and be part of the executive leadership team.
Responsibilities include developing new partnerships, designing business development processes, and championing repeatable service revenue opportunities.
- Create, implement, and oversee a full‑cycle business development strategy to include marketing and trade show participation.
- Analyze current and potential partners and opportunities to ensure the company works with partners aligned with its culture and value proposition.
- Develop and launch CRM and sales funnel tools to manage lead generation and deal tracking.
- Develop and establish KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks in alignment with the leadership team.
- Strengthen relationships with preferred general contractors and identify new strategic partners (both contractors and direct clients).
- Conduct and lead prospecting efforts to deliver revenue goals, grow recurring service customers, stabilize demand volatility, and improve revenue forecasting.
- Represent company in industry events and with potential partners.
- Work closely with internal service and manufacturing teams to qualify and deliver on new opportunities, including the logistics from quoting through manufacturing and delivery.
- Quarterback responses to customers with company estimators, project manager, and the leadership team.
- Oversee marketing efforts aligned to business development goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field.
- 7–10+ years in business development, ideally in military, aerospace, or industrial electronics manufacturing industries.
- Proven record of successfully managing and enhancing relationships in a manufacturing setting, with an emphasis on high‑performance team culture and client satisfaction.
- Experience building systems and processes from the ground up including CRM selection, process design, and client targeting strategies.
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth and establish lasting client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of industry trends, RFP/procurement processes, and project life cycles.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with Made2
Manage ERP and Calcu Quote are a plus.
