Join the Alaska Nanooks Athletics Department at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and support Nanook pride, student engagement, and marketing across our 10 NCAA teams. This position will work closely with the Assistant Athletics Director of Marketing, Sponsor ships, and Fan Engagement to plan and execute giveaways and in-game promotions, with an emphasis on increasing and energizing the student section at Nanooks games.

The athletics department is fast-paced, high-energy, and collaborative. To thrive in this role, you should have a passion for sports, event planning, and strong organizational and communication skills. Successful candidates will demonstrate creativity with marketing and social media, and be comfortable with cold-calling and doing outreach at on-campus events to advertise upcoming games. Experience with graphic design and video editing is highly valued.

Candidates must be available to work weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Current enrollment in a related degree program (e.g., Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Event Planning).

● Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
● Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Attention to detail and ability to track marketing plans for multiple games and events at the same time

● Proficiency in Google Workspace, Canva design, and social media apps
● Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during athletic events.
● Passion for sports and creating a positive fan experience.

● Experience and knowledge with graphic design principles and social media filming is preferred.

Position Details:

This is a part-time, non-exempt temporary position. New hires will be placed on the UA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
