Finance Operational Analyst
The Finance Operational Analyst is responsible for providing financial support for critical areas and time‑bound processes such as the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and the month‑end close cycle. Duties include data gathering, trending, modelling, forecasting, planning and reporting, as well as collecting information across the company to build models that provide insight into underlying business dynamics.
Job Responsibilities- Facilitates review of large customer deals; leads discussions with senior‑level leaders and provides clear and timely communication of outcomes.
- Validates customer proposals for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinates and secures all necessary executive level approvals in accordance with organizational governance standards.
- Compiles and prepares accurate and timely reports and business‑related analyses.
- Conveys information in a meaningful way utilizing tables, graphs and charts.
- Develops and prepares various analytical and statistical reports in support of the business activities.
- Supports the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting of the assigned business area including variance analysis and sensitivity testing.
- Partners with other departments in the preparation of analyses and identifies improvement opportunities that can provide positive results to the bottom line.
- Supports functional and cross‑functional projects and implements process improvements within the functional area.
- Articulates the impact of analysis, modelling, business decision support on key financial measures (e.g. Gross Profit, Operating Margin, DSO).
- Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and some project direction input.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or related field.
- 0-2 years FP&A experience required.
- Solid oral and written communication skills with ability to express ideas and ask relevant questions.
- Active listening.
- Novice to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access.
- Ability to work independently when needed and to collaborate as a team member.
- Outstanding analytical skills (numerical, verbal).
- Strong strategic planning, financial and operations/business background.
- Strong business acumen.
- Good judgment and capability to work with minimal supervision.
Remote role – associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. They may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed by their manager.
Travel, if needed, is minor and may require visits to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for meetings.
Physical demands include working in an office setting with frequent use of computer, calculators, keyboards, and occasional standing or reaching activities.
