Finance Business Partner – Operations – Boulder, CO
The Finance Business Partner – Operations role will provide critical financial analysis and support to the operations department, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics and after‑sales services. The position reports directly to the Director of FP&A while maintaining a close relationship with Operations Leadership and their direct reports. The work focuses on driving efficiency and profitability through in-depth analysis of supply‑chain forecasts, sales projections, product costing, and financial reserves, and by supporting Lean processes and service‑and‑installation operations.
Responsibilities- Supply Chain Forecast Analysis
Analyze and interpret supply‑chain forecasts to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; collaborate with supply‑chain and procurement teams to refine forecasts and ensure alignment with financial goals. - Monthly Sales Forecast Analysis
Review and analyze monthly sales forecasts, identify variances, and provide actionable insights; align sales forecasts to production schedules and communicate with sales and marketing teams. - Product Costing Review
Conduct detailed analysis of product costing, including material, labor, and overhead costs; ensure accurate cost allocation and identify opportunities for cost reduction and margin improvement. - Warranty Analysis & Reserve Preparation
Analyze warranty claims, prepare related reserves, monitor trends, and recommend reserve adjustments. - Inventory Reserve Analysis
Analyze inventory reserves, assess adequacy, and recommend adjustments to reflect current market conditions and inventory turnover. - Deferred Revenue Review
Review and analyze deferred revenue accounts, ensuring proper recognition and alignment with revenue policies; resolve discrepancies with the accounting team. - Support Lean Processes
Contribute to Lean initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing waste; provide financial insights to support process improvements and cost‑saving projects. - Service & Installation Business P&L Analysis
Report and analyze profit‑and‑loss statements for service and installation segments; highlight areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; resolves complex issues into actionable solutions.
- Encourages a collaborative team environment and actively engages with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Experience communicating with and supporting executive and senior‑level management.
- Business mindset with deep understanding of drivers behind top and bottom‑line growth and business risk.
- Strategic focus with the ability to dive into detail to support strategic analysis.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. CPA, CMA or similar certification is a plus.
Experience
Minimum of 5years in a financial analysis role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Accounting experience is a plus.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, advanced financial modeling, forecasting and variance analysis, proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel, and understanding of Lean principles.
Location
In‑office approximately 3 times a week; remaining time may work from home. Position located in Niwot, CO with a preference for local candidates.
- Base Salary – Competitive range: $95,000 – $145,000.
