• Support the Buyer’s activities to drive our business by developing unique product assortments for our omni-channel business through analysis, trend research and international sourcing.
• Manage a department or multiple categories and have financial accountability for key metrics, weekly analysis, and business summaries.
• Understand business and category, develop business acumen, demonstrate understanding of key metrics and levers.
• Take responsibility for key financials and reporting.
• Research competition and market conditions; speak confidently about product vision and category performance.
• Actively manage business both in forward planning and in-season execution.
• Own a department or category and strategically create assortments that achieve financial goals.
• Develop core and seasonal products, build assortment plans with Inventory Management partner, using trend research, competitive shopping, and analyzing business data.
• Create and manage the product development process with vendor partners: provide design direction and negotiate costs.
• Support Inventory Management in Open To Buy and buy plans; provide final assortment plans (line lists), product details, estimated IMU, SKU ranking, and floor plan location; update documents for accuracy.
• Propose and manage promotional strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
• Prepare and present new product reviews; collaborate with Visual, Inventory Management, and eCommerce partners to determine photography, signage, product placement.
• Maintain department’s active items documentation; manage vendor relationships, pursue samples, quality assurance, and sample management process.

• Passion for the business; high level of intellectual capacity, agility, curiosity.
• Strong team collaboration skills; awareness of marketplace and trends.
• Ability to travel domestically and possibly internationally.
• Excellent analytical, planning, and time management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Resourceful and creative problem solving.
• Minimum 3 years buying experience with a multi-unit retailer in a merchandise capacity.
• Proficient in MS Office with advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to lift and move boxes.

• CA Pay Range is $80,000-$90,000 annually.

Hybrid. You will spend up to 3 days per week on average at our Alameda, CA home office.
