Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.


Job Summary


The Liturgy Coordinator will collaborate with Pastor to coordinate and oversee all aspects of Eucharistic and other Sacramental celebrations. The Liturgy Coordinator will plan and assist families with Funeral and Wedding Liturgy's, and Preparation. This Coordinator will collaborate with Business Office, Faith Formation, Muti-Cultural Communities, Church Environment and attend weekly staff meetings when scheduled.


Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of a parish's liturgies, special occasions and Holy Days
  • Responsible for Sunday Offerings
  • Place orders for Liturgy related supplies-wine, host, oils, and linens
  • Create and post schedule for presiders and deacons
  • Keep the parish's liturgical calendar
  • Get priest and lector binders ready
  • Schedule lectors, extra-ordinary ministers and ushers & servers (Ministry Scheduler)
  • Provide training and recruitment for liturgical ministers and servers
  • Prepare altar for Sunday and special liturgies and Holy Days
  • Prepare pulpit announcements and petition prayers
  • Purify vessels after Sunday liturgies if not done by the priest
  • Facilitate weekly Stations of the Cross during Lent
  • Works with families to plan and organize funeral mass or service
  • Prepare the funeral liturgy - work with funeral homes to schedule and put on parish calendar
  • Coordinate with Music Director to schedule Musicians and Cantors for funeral
  • Schedule Funeral Luncheon with (Helping Hands) & Director of Maintenance (Kitchen Staff) and put on parish calendar.
  • Safeguard the respectful use of the church and to assist the couples planning their weddings
  • Answer questions and inquiries by the engaged couples
  • Maintain a detailed and updated checklist and timeline and utilize it to ensure a meaningful marriage preparation
  • Ensure all necessary items and forms are completed
  • Work with Music Director to schedule Musicians and Cantors for Weddings.
  • Lead rehearsals
  • Communicate with couples in planning the details of the wedding (e.g., use of spaces in the church, decorations and cleanup, number of attendants, music, readings, etc.).
  • Work with Church Environment to plan church decorations according to Liturgical Seasons
  • Report needed repairs inside church and notify the Pastor/Business Manager
  • Send reminders to visiting priest, making sure church and sacristy are unlocked for them to access, and paid in a timely manner

Job Requirements
  • Significant knowledge of the Catholic Faith
  • Education & Experience in Pastoral Ministry - Divinity Preferred
  • Participation in the liturgical and sacramental life of the church
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of the church's teaching
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as take own initiative
