Job Summary
We are looking for an Appian Business Analyst to partner with our Appian product teams and engage customers to generate Appian application requirements.
Responsibilities- Support Product Development Managers in defining the minimum viable product (MVP) and release plans.
- Conduct requirement discovery, data modeling, and process improvement/reengineering analysis.
- Design BPM applications, user interfaces, and data interfaces.
- Lead discovery workshops with customer stakeholders to document solution requirements.
- Collaborate with Product Development Managers and technology stakeholders (e.g., Systems Architects) to define new or enhanced product requirements.
- Prioritize feature enablers within the product roadmap.
- Maintain user engagement analytics to support case studies and anecdotal information.
- Author user stories with detailed acceptance criteria for developers and QA.
- Provide continuous feedback and direction on work items, enablers, and user stories.
- Consult on product vision, roadmap, and requirements.
- Define sprint plans based on overall product vision.
- Refine product requirements based on user engagements, sprint showcases, and demos.
- Estimate user stories within the product backlog.
- Formally review and accept implemented user stories.
- Identify, track, and manage risks; raise escalation when necessary.
- Recommend process improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement complex data models based on application requirements.
- Use tools such as TFS, Jira, and Git Hub for project management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience performing business analysis and refining requirements for information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication at all organizational levels.
- Detail‑oriented with experience managing multiple products simultaneously.
- Experience using process‑based documentation methods including use cases, Agile user stories, and process modeling.
- Remote position; must be able to work east‑coast hours as needed.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain up to a Secret level security clearance.
- 1+ years of hands‑on Appian solution implementation experience.
