Position: Software Company - Operations Lead

Operations Lead

Keytag.ai has grown to the point where senior management is spending too much time on coordination, admin, and process. We’re hiring an Operations Lead to take ownership of how the company runs day-to-day so the rest of the team can focus on building and delivering.

This is a high-trust, high-autonomy individual contributor role. You won’t manage a team on day one. You will own outcomes across operations, people, and process, and you’ll work directly with the founder.

What you’ll own

Founder & team support. Run the rhythm of the business weekly planning sessions, leadership syncs, customer process improvements. Make sure decisions get documented and follow-ups don’t fall through the cracks.

People operations. Hiring coordination, offers, onboarding, and managing our third-party Finance/Payroll partner. Be the first point of contact for HR questions.

Engineering process & accountability. Work alongside our tech leads to keep the dev team running smoothly: making sure documentation is written and current, and that standards set by engineering leadership are actually followed. You don’t need to write code, but you need to be comfortable in a technical environment.

Process improvement. Continuously identify friction points and fix them. Document how we do things. Pick the right tools (and retire the wrong ones). Automate the repetitive. Your goal is to make the company run more smoothly each quarter than the last.

What we’re looking for
  • 4–8 years of experience, with at least 2 years in an operations, business operations, or chief-of-staff-style role at a software company.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate without much structure — comfortable in a small, fast-moving team where the answer is often "figure it out and come back with a proposal."
  • Strong written communication. You’ll be drafting policies, documentation, and cross-team comms regularly.
  • Highly organised. You don’t drop things. If you say you’ll handle it, it’s handled.
  • Comfortable around technical teams. You don’t need to be technical, but you should be unafraid of Git Hub, Jira/Click Up, AI assistants.
  • Familiarity with Indian labour basics and payroll processes.
  • A track record of introducing tools and processes that actually stuck.
What we’re not looking for
  • Pure executive assistants without operational scope.
  • Senior managers looking for a team to run on day one — this role is hands‑on first.
  • Consultants or strategists who want to advise rather than do.
