Location: St. George
Ailux is seeking an experienced Vice President of Business Development to lead the out-licensing strategy and execution for Ailux’s internal pipeline. This role will be responsible for identifying, structuring, and closing strategic partnerships with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, translating Ailux’s scientific innovation into high-value external collaborations.
The VP will work closely with R&D, portfolio strategy, and executive leadership to position Ailux’s assets optimally, drive competitive partnering processes, and maximize long-term value through thoughtful deal structures.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the global out-licensing strategy for Ailux’s internal pipeline across discovery, preclinical, and early clinical assets.
- Define partnering priorities by asset, indication, and geography in alignment with corporate strategy.
- Lead end-to-end transaction processes, including:
- partner identification and outreach
- NDA execution and data room management
- scientific and commercial diligence coordination
- term sheet negotiation and definitive agreements
- Structure creative deal terms (upfronts, milestones, royalties, co-development options) to optimize risk-reward balance.
- Serve as the primary BD interface with global pharmaceutical companies, biotech partners, and investors.
- Represent Ailux at major partnering conferences (e.g., JPM, BIO).
- 10+ years of experience in business development, licensing, or corporate strategy within biotech or pharmaceutical companies.
- Proven track record of closing out-licensing or strategic collaboration deals for drug discovery, preclinical, or early clinical assets.
- Deep familiarity with the I&I therapeutic area, particularly with biologics, is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to understand and communicate complex scientific data and translational narratives.
- Solid grasp of drug development, competitive landscapes, and pharma partnering dynamics.
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, Pharm
D) strongly preferred
- Strategic thinker with strong execution skills.
- Credible, confident external representative at senior levels.
- Collaborative, low-ego style with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

-based; remote role with work-from-home flexibility, and willingness to travel as needed.
