In Fiji, the Multi‑Country Office partners with other UN agencies to implement gender‑sensitive programs.
UN Women Fiji Multi‑Country Office is recruiting a National Evaluation Consultant on a retainer basis to support the design, implementation and reporting of evaluations for the Office. The role will be based in Suva, Fiji, with the consultant working predominantly from home and traveling to Fiji or other Pacific countries as required.
Responsibilities- Strengthen the implementation of evaluations conducted by the Fiji MCO by providing technical and operational support across all phases of the evaluation process.
- Contribute to rigorous and evidence‑based evaluation design and analysis, including document reviews, portfolio and stakeholder analyses, and the development of evaluation methodologies and data collection tools.
- Support inclusive and human‑rights‑based evaluation processes, including stakeholder consultations, interviews and focus group discussions that capture the perspectives of diverse rights holders and duty bearers.
- Support the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative evidence to identify results, challenges, gaps and lessons learned related to UN Women programming.
- Contribute to the preparation of high‑quality evaluation outputs, including analytical inputs to inception reports, presentations, synthesis reports, case studies and supporting annexes.
- Ensure evaluation deliverables meet UN Women quality‑assurance standards, including the Global Evaluation Reports Assessment and Analysis System (GERAAS) and the UN Women Editorial Style Guide.
- Desk and background reviews, portfolio analysis and stakeholder analysis.
- Human‑rights‑based evaluation methodology and key informant interview guides.
- Organized and documented interviews, focus groups and stakeholder consultations.
- Analytical inputs to inception reports, presentation of preliminary findings and final synthesis reports.
- Co‑authored case studies or thematic analysis pieces.
The consultant will report to the Regional Evaluation Specialist for Asia and the Pacific and collaborate with the Pacific Regional M&E Programme Specialist and the designated Evaluation Team Leader for each assignment. All deliverables must be produced in English and comply with UN Women editorial and data‑management policies.
Duration of the Work24‑month contract (June/July 2026 – June/July 2028) with a maximum of 100 working days; the consultant will be paid on a monthly basis upon submission of reports, timesheets and supervisor certification.
Duty Station and TravelThis is a home‑based position. Working from the consultant’s own computer is expected; access to the UN Women office for printing is permitted. Travel for specific assignments will be arranged and paid in accordance with UN Women policies.
