Manager, OU Buying Directs Europe

About the role

The Manager, OU Buying Directs EU is part of the Global Direct Material, Procurement organization. The role is responsible for strategy execution and sourcing activities for the OU buying scope of packaging, capital and facilities within the EU. The manager will connect category procurement with site teams, establish value‑focused supplier relationships, and manage category sustainability and diversity objectives.

• Strategy and execution
  • Manage a spend of £20m+ for packaging, capital and facilities within EU.
  • Create regional and local sourcing strategies aligned to business requirements and market nuances.
  • Execute sourcing strategies, including tendering, contracting and supplier management.
  • Serve as the local expert for spend categories in scope.
  • Ensure regional strategies reflect sustainability and diversity objectives.
• Benefit delivery
  • Deliver benefits identified in global strategies through effective strategy execution.
  • Ensure financial benefits are managed in accordance with the Procurement Plan and Savings Methodology.
• Business partnering & stakeholder management
  • Build strategic relationships with senior local and regional stakeholders.
  • Influence key stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development.
  • Add value to the Procurement roadmap and budget agreements.
• External supplier relationships
  • Lead processes to drive value from key regional suppliers.
  • Ensure supplier performance is measured and improved.
  • Develop and implement operational excellence strategies and plans.
• Supply chain & risk management
  • Transform the supply chain to release value and improve responsiveness.
  • Focus on cost control, complexity reduction, simplification and best practice procurement.

• Minimum education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, Supply Chain or Marketing.
• 3+ years of operational procurement experience.
• Experience with sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review and development.
• Demonstrated expertise in category strategy development and stakeholder management.
• Strong understanding of finance, cost benchmarking, and contract law.
• Experience working in a matrixed global or regional environment.
• Excellent networking, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
• Experience with risk management.
