The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000/annually. This is a remote based position.
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and procurement of a designated portfolio of protein and seafood ingredients. Your goal will be to provide our New Product Development and Culinary Teams with the highest quality ingredients to choose from at the greatest overall value.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the sourcing and procurement (entire source-to-pay process) of assigned protein and seafood ingredients used in Fresh Realm’s recipes
- Strategically develop and optimize the supplier network for category development and execution of competitive sourcing strategies with the goal of driving incremental value. Manage commodity and global supply dynamics to mitigate cost risk to Fresh Realm on behalf of our customers
- Responsible for supplier management and key performance indicators including supplier compliance with all safety / quality / regulatory specifications, on-time delivery of inbound supply shipments, and cost per meal as well as service level, quality, cost, and sustainability metrics
- Partner with Regulatory and Food Safety & Quality Assurance Leadership Teams to ensure all grocery suppliers are operating in compliance with all applicable regulations and Fresh Realm policies and customer requirements
- Partner with New Product Development and Fulfillment Operations Leadership Teams to perform ongoing SKU rationalization / management efforts, to ensure Fresh Realm operates with maximum efficiency, while also effectively fulfilling our customers' demand for variety
Skills and Requirements
- Proven track record of success in purchasing, pricing, and financial management
- Outstanding negotiation skills
- Comfortable making quick decisions with broad consequences
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively influence all levels of the organization
- Proven track record of leadership experience, including effective management of multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
- Self-motivated, innovative thinker with a passion for food!
- Excited to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- 3 to 5 years purchasing, category management and food industry experience, preferably with protein and seafood experience.

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
