Economic Development Leader

Position: Economic Development Leader at Okanagan Indian Band
Become a key player in community development as the Economic Development Manager for the Okanagan Indian Band. This role emphasizes strategic leadership in economic initiatives.

In this role, you will spearhead projects that drive economic growth for OKIB members, focusing on investment attraction and sustainable development practices. Collaborating with various leaders and stakeholders, you will execute strategies to maximize the value of OKIB's assets and lands while ensuring cultural values are respected. The position allows for hybrid or remote work while demanding in-person engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development of the Economic Development Strategy

• Execute major economic development projects effectively

• Actively pursue investment opportunities and partnerships

• Develop business cases and financial models for initiatives

• Provide updates and guidance on economic projects

Requirements:

• 10 years of progressive economic development experience

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Knowledge of Indigenous economic development preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field essential

• Valid Class 5 driver's license is a must
