Job OverviewWe are hiring for multiple Merchandising Analysts to support the Merchant team in executing key merchandising activities that drive sales, inventory productivity, and business performance. This role is responsible for purchase order management, product setup, reporting and analysis, vendor coordination, and promotional execution, helping ensure the right products are available for MEC members at the right time.
LocationCandidates may be based in Vancouver or Calgary and work on a hybrid basis, or work remotely from anywhere in Canada.
As a Merchandise Analyst you'll be:- Issuing purchase orders within Open‑to‑Buy parameters, responsible for PO creation, and following up with vendors.
- Reviewing weekly PO status reporting and following up on outstanding PO confirmations and late ASNs based on ship/DC dates.
- Making PO adjustments and cancellations based on confirmations back from vendors.
- Reviewing past cancel‑date POs for cancellations, reissuance/escalation.
- Reviewing and resolving inbound PO discrepancies and product information discrepancies.
- Gathering and inputting data; building, analyzing and maintaining reports to support merchandise decisions using systems such as D365, and creating and tracking vendor‑funded markdowns and credits.
- Supporting merchants with assortment planning activities, e.g., product set‑up.
- Supporting merchants with merchandise event/promotional execution including item selection templates and marketing campaign templates.
- Supporting the business on product recalls, entering pertinent information into the system for the business to act upon.
- Assisting merchants in setting up new vendors and in product set‑up through template completion with vendor and hand‑off to cross‑functional merchandise operation partners.
- Assisting merchants with running size sorting functions.
- Assisting merchants with price and PO changes as related to DCR and adjustments from vendors.
- Post‑secondary degree/diploma preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, buying support, planning, inventory management, or a related business function.
- 1+ year experience using basic Microsoft Office functionality; strong Excel skills considered a key asset.
- Strong proactive and time‑management skills.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to prioritize and manage conflicting deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with D365 is an asset.
This is a permanent role with an anticipated annual base salary range of $56,000 to $58,000 base + bonus. The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s relevant skills, experience, location, qualifications and internal equity. This role is eligible for our annual variable incentive plan.
