Grant/RFP Writer – K-12 Educational Services
Location:
Remote
Pay Rate: $30–$35/hour (depending on experience)
Part-time: 10–20 hours/week

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grant/RFP Writer to support funding and contract acquisition efforts across educational programs and services. In this role, you will manage the full grant/RFP lifecycle—from identifying funding opportunities to writing and submitting compelling proposals. You will collaborate closely with internal subject matter experts to develop persuasive narratives that highlight program impact and support organizational growth.
This role is critical in expanding access to quality education and advancing student success initiatives.
Grant & RFP Prospecting:
- Research and identify relevant RFPs, grants, and contracting opportunities from state, district, and charter agencies
- Use databases and independent research to proactively source opportunities aligned with organizational services
- Stay current on education funding trends, RFP cycles, and best practices
Proposal Development & Submission:
- Write clear, compelling, and tailored grant proposals and RFP responses
- Develop narratives that communicate program impact, outcomes, and alignment with agency goals
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to all submission requirements and deadlines
- Communicate with grant/RFP contacts to clarify requirements and manage questions throughout the process
Grant/RFP Management & Reporting:
- Track deadlines, submission requirements, and award statuses
- Maintain organized records of applications, communications, and outcomes
- Monitor success rates and support continuous improvement of proposal strategy
- Collaborate with finance and program teams to ensure compliance with awarded funding requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Education, Public Policy, or related field
- 1+ year of experience in grant writing, RFP writing, or related proposal development
- Strong writing, research, and storytelling abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to incorporate data into proposals
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience writing K-12 education grants or RFPs
- Proven success securing funding from state, district, or charter agencies
- Familiarity with federal education funding (e.g., Title I, U.S. Department of Education grants)
- Experience working with school districts or charter networks
- Understanding of program evaluation, reporting, and data-driven outcomes
- Flexible, remote work environment
