Location: Lee's Summit
Position Summary
The Taylor Family Department of Neurosurgery seeks a Grant Specialist II to join its Research Administration team. This remote position requires attendance at on‑campus meetings monthly.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage pre‑award proposal activities: work with faculty on preparation, budgeting, justifications, regulatory compliance, and submission.
- Serve as liaison among Chair, faculty, and department administrators.
- Coordinate submission workflow, obtain pricing quotes, and monitor regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and review agency forms, enter budgeting documents, and secure signatures.
- Initiate subaward setup and coordinate transfer of grants into WashU system.
- Provide internal award notification, support annual agency reports, and revise budgets with Post‑Award unit.
- Maintain online database of grant status and track reporting requirements.
- Oversee grant closeout: submit final reports, invention statements, and delinquent reporting.
- Assist senior leadership with special projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; a combination of education and work experience may substitute.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant grant administration experience.
- Knowledge of RMS, SUBS, and agency guidelines is preferred.
- Skills:
Accounting, Adobe Acrobat, Analytical Thinking, Computer Literacy, Deadline Management, Grant Administration, Grant Proposals, Microsoft Office suite, and communication skills. - Driver’s license not required.
- Salary: $53,100 – $90,600 annually
- Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 holidays, and sick time
