About DTMB
Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About this positionThe position is responsible for initiation, tracking, reporting, metrics, and closeout of Capital Outlay and Agency Funded Projects. The work includes utilization, administration, and maintenance of two databases (currently in Microsoft Access) – the Project Information Management System (PIMS) for continuous monitoring of expenditures, project status and available funding resources, and the DTMB 400 tracker for project‑specific administrative information. Additional duties include processing DTMB 400 Project Request Forms (Work Orders and Miscellaneous Operating Projects) by reviewing documentation for accuracy, obtaining management and Financial Services signatures as appropriate, and entering the information into PIMS and other databases to provide various reports.
The position serves as the liaison to the Program, Strategies, and Solutions Division of SFA for the creation and maintenance of metric dashboards for all contract processes, and for coordination and monitoring of project closeout documents and collection of administrative fees.
Located in Lansing, MI. The position may work a hybrid schedule (remote/office) with 2 days required in the office per week. Selected candidates approved for a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

EducationPossession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.
Experience- Departmental Analyst 9 – no specific type or amount of professional experience required.
- Departmental Analyst 10 – one year of professional experience.
- Departmental Analyst 11 – two years of professional experience, including one year at the intermediate (10) level in state service.
- Departmental Analyst 12 – educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full‑time active‑duty experience at or above the E‑6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
