Responsibilities
- Assess the benefits needs of new employer groups with 50-499 lives accurately and efficiently, responding knowledgeably and requesting missing information as needed.
- Analyze initial Requests for Proposal (RFPs), underwriting guidelines, and product offerings to determine viable offers, working closely with internal and external partners.
- Gain proficiency in manual rating for all products sold in the PA space, including STD, LTD, Life, and Voluntary products.
- Scrub data systematically for completeness according to minimum requirements.
- Understand plan designs and build them in PRISM accordingly.
- Comprehend account structures to complete rating processes in PRISM.
- Review rating reports to ensure accuracy and reasonability, understanding any variances.
- Deliver proposals accurately and timely, meeting quality guidelines and turnaround times.
- Maintain effective information flow to senior team members, producers, field representatives, and third parties.
- Manage your work queue effectively, escalating urgent matters to your manager and proposing practical solutions when necessary.
- Proactively maintain case status in systems and provide assistance to Regional Account Executives.
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying, planning, and implementing enhancements for the team or department.
- Participate in special projects that support segment needs, assessing and communicating business impacts effectively.
- Adhere to required documentation standards.
- A college degree is preferred, or equivalent experience related to financial ratings.
- Knowledge of employee benefits products is essential; reviewing and understanding prior carrier booklets is required.
- A commitment of 18 months is required before applying for other internal roles.
- Understand organizational processes, methods, and systems thoroughly.
- Possess solid knowledge of products and operational parameters.
- Demonstrate ownership and initiative, taking action, suggesting improvements, and setting high standards for performance.
- Exhibit a customer and market segment orientation, showing commitment to responsive customer service.
- Possess effective writing and communication skills.
- Build effective relationships across teams and departments.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver results and address customer needs effectively.
This role offers a Hybrid or Remote work schedule. Candidates located near one of our office locations are expected to work in‑office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Those who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into the office as business needs arise.
CompensationThe role offers an annualized base pay range based on an analysis of similar positions in the market. Actual base pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and competencies required for the role. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $49,920 - $74,880.
