SummaryProvide the best possible benefits administration experience for clients and brokers, ensuring high satisfaction and business retention. In coordination with sales executives, ensure a satisfactory onboarding experience for new clients, manage the delivery, documentation and resolution of all renewals and plan changes, identify opportunities and sell add‑issue, and provide proactive issue resolution by coordinating resources internally and with carriers when required.
CompensationBase salary up to $60,000 plus a commission plan with earnings tied to performance, allowing high performers to earn up to $120,000 in total compensation.
ScheduleFull‑time opportunity with flexibility of a hybrid schedule from Wallingford, CT, and openness to fully remote candidates.
Essential Functions- Ensure a satisfactory onboarding experience for new clients, collaborating with sales executives and implementation resources, and perform system reviews to verify accurate client setup, billing and rates.
- Evaluate and negotiate benefit plan renewals and marketing proposals for assigned accounts, supplementing sales efforts with product options.
- Identify opportunities to offer additional or alternative products and services, sell add‑issue to brokers and clients, and initiate implementation activities.
- Use product knowledge to anticipate client needs and deliver solutions including administration, COBRA and other PPI services.
- Conduct client and broker meetings, and occasionally employee meetings, primarily remotely.
- Ensure all paperwork and documentation for renewals, plan changes and service offerings is complete, timely and submitted appropriately.
- Resolve or direct the resolution of escalated client service issues such as system usage, enrollment, rates/billing, payment or benefit questions.
- Oversee open enrollment and ongoing enrollment processes, including data file handling, EDI and employee self‑service, and act as liaison when problems arise.
- Support and collaborate with account management teammates, share best practices, and coordinate across departments and carriers to meet client needs.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Five or more years of account management or client service experience in group insurance or employee benefits.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and follow through effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including client presentations (virtual and in person).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Life and health license required or ability to obtain within three months.
