Position: Designated Procurement Representative (Vendor Liaison Specialist 1/2)

What You Will Do

Vendor Liaison Specialist will support the Procurement Engineering & Acquisition Management Group within the Supply Chain & Logistics (SCL) Division by procuring equipment and material for Plutonium Facility Maintenance activities. The role ensures national security mission milestones are delivered on time and compliantly.

Responsibilities

– Use independent judgment and initiative to prepare and review procurement‑related documents (specifications, quotations, quality documents) in accordance with industry practices, policies, and procedures.

– Conduct research and resolve material issues independently and collaboratively to meet delivery milestones.

– Serve as a liaison between technical requesters, subcontractors, and internal organizations (Acquisition Services Management Division, Institutional Quality & Performance Assurance Division, etc.) and track material from request through RFQ, award, and delivery.

Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Vendor Liaison Specialist 1 – Associate’s Degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Vendor Liaison Specialist 2 – Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience (or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with databases, procurement, or inventory management systems.
  • Professional stakeholder interaction and clear communication.
  • Creative problem‑solving using standard techniques, with guidance for complex issues.
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Follow established procurement and inventory policies and procedures.
  • Gather, review, and maintain data within procurement and inventory systems.
  • Basic knowledge of production and inventory control principles and planning methods.
  • Willingness to learn laboratory procedures, standards, and DOE/NNSA regulations.
Additional Skills & Knowledge (Vendor Liaison Specialist 2)
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency with inventory control, material tracking systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Visio).
  • Exceptional customer service with the ability to provide clear guidance in high‑stress environments.
  • Proven ability to provide clear, concise guidance to varied audiences.
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, observational skills, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Independent judgment in preparing and reviewing procurement documents (specifications, quotations, quality documents).
  • Compliance with industry practices, policies, and procedures for procurement and quality.
  • Research and resolve complex material issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience identifying problem areas, investigating alternatives, and determining actions for procurement and maintenance subcontract management.
Desired Qualifications – Vendor Liaison Specialist 1
  • Experience supporting procurement, inventory tracking, or supply chain activities.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP or Ariba.
  • Experience in a regulated or compliance‑driven environment.
  • Awareness of supply‑chain management practices.
  • Active DOE Q‑level clearance.
Desired Qualifications – Vendor Liaison Specialist 2
  • Experience purchasing material in a nuclear facility and/or high‑regulated environment.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical information.
  • Experience purchasing high volume material for multiple customers.
  • Knowledge of NQA‑1 quality drivers.
  • Active DOE Q‑level clearance.
Salary Range

Vendor Liaison Specialist 1: $66,100 – $103,600
Vendor Liaison Specialist 2: $80,400 – $127,900

Work Location
