Responsibilities
- Provide personal financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families at assigned installations.
- Deliver one‑on‑one counseling, consultation with commanders or other staff, briefings, presentations, and referral resources.
- Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials to members and families.
- Coordinate, publicize, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle, including arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and personal or career events.
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication tools such as web‑based chat and secure video teleconference (subject to approval by the OSD FINRED Program office).
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing trends and issues.
- Participate in regular in‑service training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a two‑year degree with 4 years of experience or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizen who speaks fluent English; bilingual ability in English and Spanish may be required.
- Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 security investigation.
- Must pass the congressional disclosures for organizational conflicts of interest (OCI) process.
- Must hold one of the following certifications:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

24.Salary range: $58,440 – $93,500 per year, based on national data. Short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package may be available.
