As part of the ENMAX Supply Chain Team, the Buyer will tangibly impact current work and future projects by managing sourcing events, category management, and supplier performance mainly for IT categories and secondarily for other Corporate categories.

• Collaboratively develop and issue competitive sourcing documents; lead processes to source a variety of goods and services in accordance with ENMAX policy, standards and procedures.
• Lead negotiations for price, delivery, commercial terms and conditions with suppliers in conjunction with Business Units.
• Develop, negotiate, and manage contractual agreements that mitigate ENMAX’s risk and liabilities.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to Business Units that reduce ENMAX’s total cost of ownership and/or increase profitability and efficiency, with industry best practice considerations.
• Recommend and implement appropriate sourcing strategies through broad market knowledge and detailed analysis of market conditions, business requirements, and risk assessment.
• Coordinate and participate in business reviews and monitoring with Business Units to ensure objectives achieved and procurement strategy validated.
• Conduct spend analysis, market analysis and benchmarking studies as required.
• Present findings and conclusions/recommendations to Business Units and suppliers in multiple formats.
• Manage category procurements, identify contractual and supply market risks, and work with management on mitigation strategies.
• Complete Supply Chain project plans for large events and deliver high‑impact formal presentations.
• Implement Supplier Relationship Management programs that allow evaluation and monitoring of supplier performance.
• Support Business Units in addressing and resolving issues related to performance delivery that fails to meet contractual standards.
• Expedite and manage orders to support on‑time project execution, create Purchase Orders, and manage issues from creation through to close‑out.
• Ensure procurement standards, policies and procedures are complied with and educate stakeholders.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and guidance to junior SCM roles.
• Provide operational backfill for SCM roles as assigned.

University Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Technology, or related discipline. SCMP or equivalent certification is considered an asset.

5+ years in Supply Chain Management. Strong knowledge of procurement processes such as sourcing and evaluation, contract administration. Expertise in supply chain policies, procedures, guidelines and tools. Strong background in RFx processes, planning, organizing, and managing projects. Negotiated contracts and commercial terms, especially SaaS subscriptions, IT services, IT implementation, maintenance contracts, telecommunication contracts, IT software and hardware contracts. Knowledge in IT Hardware, IT Services, Telecommunication, and IT Software procurement categories.

SCMC Level C (CUPE rates): $ – $ (current). Salary range specified in description.

Hybrid (home and office) work force. Office at ENMAX Place (141 – 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). Work from home on Mondays and Fridays; office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.

Must be legal to work in Canada. Requires successful completion of a criminal background check. Two pieces of valid government‑issued .
