Senior Assortment Planner
Location:
Beaverton, OR (Hybrid Onsite Monday Thursday, Work From Home Fridays)
Duration: 9 Months (Mat Leave Coverage)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Assortment Planner to join a Global Demand Planning team. This role will be responsible for developing end-to-end assortment plans, leveraging statistical forecasting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making to optimize product, inventory, and financial performance.
The ideal candidate will have strong assortment planning expertise, advanced analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders through data-backed insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop seasonal assortment plans and monthly forecasts for sales, margin, and inventory at the style and color level.
- Leverage statistical forecasting, analytics, and data science methodologies to improve planning accuracy and business decisions.
- Create bottom-up assortment plans that align with financial targets, inventory strategies, and consumer demand.
- Partner with Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Marketplace Planning, Supply Planning, Business Planning, and Product teams.
- Present financial plans, forecasts, business strategies, risks, and opportunities to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analyze forecast variances and develop action plans to improve business performance.
- Support product forecasting and in-season optimization through data analysis and actionable insights.
- Drive profitability, productivity, and consumer-centric assortment strategies.
- Monitor business performance and recommend improvements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate across global and regional teams to optimize inventory health and financial outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3 5 years of experience in Assortment Planning, Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, or a related function.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, product planning, assortment planning, and inventory management.
- Experience developing forecasts, assortment strategies, and inventory plans using data-driven methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex data effectively.
- Experience presenting business insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working within a consumer products, retail, apparel, footwear, or sporting goods environment.
- Knowledge of statistical forecasting and demand planning methodologies.
- Experience utilizing data science tools or advanced analytics to support planning decisions.
