The Advisory Services Senior Consultant - EDS

- Enterprise Delivery Services practice. Enterprise Delivery Services (EDS) is a rapidly growing business that serves clients across the health care ecosystem. EDS consultants combine deep healthcare expertise with AI‑enabled delivery approaches, leveraging data-driven tools to accelerate insights, improve decision-making, and drive measurable outcomes across complex enterprise initiatives. Engagements are delivered through a range of structured consulting delivery models that are tailored to client needs, scope, and organizational maturity.

Our consultants are engaged to support both internal teams within United Health Group and external commercial clients in one or more of the following areas:

* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with business and technology teams to identify issues, establish objectives, develop recommendations, and implement solutions for our clients

* Provide work stream/project oversight, manage and track issue resolution, and make key decisions for the project with the project sponsor

* Leverage AI‑enabled tools to support and accelerate consulting delivery activities while improving efficiency and outcomes

* Advise clients on practical applications of AI to enhance business processes, digital products, and operational performance

* Effectively build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients

* Drive outcomes without direct authority, engaging team members in a cross-functional environment

* Define, establish, and deploy Project Management Office (PMO) frameworks, standards, and best practices, leveraging advanced project management tools and artifacts (e.g., Charter/Scope, Integrated Project Plans, Issue logs, Requirements Matrices, Lessons Learned, and portfolio tracking)

* Monitor, manage, and document project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle, proactively identifying emerging issues and driving appropriate actions to maintain project alignment and momentum.

* Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive project risk and issue management plans, including mitigation and escalation strategies to minimize impact and ensure successful delivery

* Facilitate status updates and review of programs to client leadership and/or project sponsor

* Provide clear communications (oral and written) and share knowledge at all levels of the organization

* Conduct research studies that may include collecting, analyzing, trending, and presenting data and recommendations to management

* Provide coaching and mentoring of project team with the goal of developing talent within the organization

* Ensure that the engagement performs consistent with expected client value and internal financial targets
