ScopeAs a District Sales Manager, Northwest, you will retain and penetrate accounts to meet or exceed the business needs of key customers, differentiate Corning’s Life Sciences division in the marketplace, and support the achievement of division sales and profit objectives. You will develop new markets, applications, and customers, interact with senior external personnel on significant technical and commercial matters, and coordinate across departments and organizations.
RequiredEducation & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required (in Life Sciences preferred)
- 4+ years sales experience
- 3+ years lab experience desired
- Strong interpersonal and sales management capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proficient in computer/data analysis (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Record of meeting or exceeding sales budgets
- Proficient in distribution channel management
- Problem‑solving and conflict management skills
- Business and financial analysis skills (sales analysis, trend reporting, usage reporting, pricing analysis)
- Organization, planning, and time‑management skills
- Experience with remote work/supervision
- Computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, Microsoft BI)
- Meet or exceed the sales budget for the individual territory
- Lead and develop a team of Account Managers at the field level
- Build strong relationships with customers and distributors
- Implement aggressive growth‑driven programs with distribution partners
- Collaborate with all internal functional groups
- Create, implement, and maintain a sales plan that meets or exceeds performance expectations
- Understand CLS products and market dynamics, drivers, and channel dynamics
- Manage all responsibilities within Corning’s framework and values
- Territory:
Boston, MA – New England
- ~25% travel
- Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
- Strong presentation skills
- Proficiency using Corning Life Science Customer Relationship Management database
- Creative promotional and account management approaches
- Executive presence and ability to work with senior levels internally and externally
- Experience with distribution and channel management
- Proficient in SFDC
- Strong business acumen – experience with financial modeling
- Ability to perform with minimal direct supervisory intervention
- Demonstrated leadership skills

$ – $ assuming full‑time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
