Role DescriptionThe National Account Manager Retail is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lilydale, MN, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for managing key national retail accounts, serving as the primary point of contact, and building long‑term, mutually beneficial relationships. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include developing and executing account plans, forecasting sales, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities to expand distribution and increase profitability.
The National Account Manager Retail will prepare and deliver retailer presentations, negotiate promotional programs and terms, and collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, finance, and supply chain to ensure flawless execution. This role also involves analyzing category and shopper data, tracking competitor activity, and providing regular business reviews and insights to both internal stakeholders and retail partners.
- Strong account management skills, including ownership of key retail accounts and experience building strategic, long‑term partnerships.
- Proficiency in business planning, including developing annual account plans, sales forecasts, and profit targets, and using data to guide decisions.
- Demonstrated customer service abilities, with a focus on responsiveness, problem solving, and delivering a positive experience for retail partners.
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, effective presentations, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Proven sales skills, including negotiation, closing, and delivering growth in national or regional retail environments.
- Experience with retail analytics tools, syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana), and basic financial analysis is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage multiple priorities, and travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
