Customs Entry Specialist
Company / LocationTarget – Massachusetts, USA
Salary$20-30 per hour (Hourly). The range cited elsewhere is $23.99 – $43.17 per week.
Job Responsibilities- File U.S. Customs entries as needed through the enterprise.
- Permit U.S. Customs access by submitting for Target Customs agents, Inc.
- Use reporting equipment to reveal U.S. Customs entries and offer training to Customs entry specialists to clear shipments in a timely and compliant way.
- Offer guidance, education, and brokerage subject‑matter expertise to resolve issues.
- Use multiple inputs to forecast access volume, make suggestions to maximize team productivity, and manipulate volume allocation among internal and outside brokers.
- Execute extent redistribution to outside agents when required.
- Review and approve U.S. Customs duty statements for correctness and timeliness.
- Facilitate updates to educational materials, operating procedures, and other team resources.
- Participate in trade education and improvement through in‑house training, third‑party seminars, and partnership with outside agents.
- Remain aware of process improvements to ensure GTB filing efficiency.
- Handle special tasks as assigned, including representing internal and external agents in cross‑functional teamwork.
- Works closely with global alternate offerings (GTS) teams, sales, legal, external Customs agents (expeditors and Maersk), and Target companies.
- Reports to the Sr. Manager of Worldwide Trade Brokerage.
- Prior Customs brokerage or relevant trade experience.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical competencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication talent.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability; ability to prioritize tasks effectively and pivot among obligations.
- Capacity to manage tasks in a fast‑paced environment and control cut‑off dates efficiently.
- Works well with ambiguity.
- Capacity to build and hold partnerships with peers and showcase a high level of customer consciousness.
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs and other government groups.
- Prior vending and/or supply chain experience.
- U.S. Customs Agents license.
Remote or Hybrid based on preference. A hybrid arrangement means a mix of digital and onsite work at a Target location. Remote work means full‑time from a domestic or trade vicinity that is not a Target location, with the possibility of traveling to HQ up to four times a year.
