Role Description
This full-time Technical Market Development Manager – U.S. Specialty Chemicals role is a hybrid position based in Houston, TX, with a mix of on-site and work-from-home days. The role focuses on identifying and developing new market opportunities for Jiahua Chemicals Inc.’s specialty chemical products across the United States. Responsibilities include analyzing customer needs, translating technical product capabilities into market-ready solutions, and supporting product positioning and differentiation.
The Technical Market Development Manager collaborates with sales, R&D, and product management to define go-to-market strategies, prepare technical presentations, and support key customer engagements. The role also includes monitoring competitive activity, gathering market intelligence, contributing to long-term business plans, and providing regular performance and pipeline reports to leadership.
- Strong market insights skills, including Market Analysis and Market Research, to understand trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Proficiency in Business Planning and Market Planning to support strategic initiatives, product positioning, and growth roadmaps.
- Proven Sales experience in specialty chemicals or related industrial markets, including customer relationship management and opportunity development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience in specialty chemicals, coatings, adhesives, polymers, or related applications, with the ability to translate technical features into value propositions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, commercial, and leadership teams.
- Ability to travel as needed within the U.S. to visit customers, attend industry events, and support onsite meetings in Houston, TX.
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment with clear accountability for results.
