Manager of Corporate Development

Location:

Remote, US-based; must work Eastern Time Zone hours. Occasional travel up to 10% may be required.

Reports to:

VP, Corporate Development (NYC).

• Lead on financial models, collaborating with business and finance teams.
• Support end-to-end M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, development of business case, deal execution and legal documents.
• Manage interactions during transaction process with internal working group, external advisors, and sellers/targets.
• Develop and maintain a potential acquisition target list, working with business division leadership to understand strategic growth priorities.
• Draft Investment Memos for Cengage Group executives and Board.

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or finance.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, or corporate development.
• M&A due diligence and deal execution experience.
• Strong financial and valuation modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Strategic and analytical thinking, solid project management and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization.
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Experience at education, media or technology firms is useful but not required.

Base pay range: $101,900 - $132,450 USD annually (target). Eligible for a company discretionary incentive bonus program. The bonus target is not guaranteed and is dependent on individual performance and overall company results.
