Job Description Overview
A Delay Analyst plays a critical role in project management by analyzing and mitigating schedule delays to ensure timely project delivery. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data tools, and expertise in forensic delay analysis.
Responsibilities- Analyze project schedules to identify delays, disruptions, and potential time impacts.
- Perform forensic delay analysis using recognized methodologies such as Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Windows Analysis, As‑Planned vs As‑Built Impact, and As‑Planned impacts.
- Assess critical path and near‑critical activities using CPM techniques.
- Evaluate Extension of Time (EOT) claims and prepare supporting delay narratives.
- Review baseline, updated, and recovery schedules submitted by contractors.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and milestones.
- Identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation or recovery measures.
- Support development of recovery schedules and acceleration strategies.
- Prepare delay analysis reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Maintain accurate records of delay events, correspondence, and approvals.
- Support claims, counterclaims, and dispute resolution processes.
- Provide input for monthly progress reports and management presentations.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Support negotiations related to time claims and project delays.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in planning and delay analysis.
- Preferable background in metro railway or major infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience handling EOT claims and delay analysis for large, complex projects.
- Excellent skills using Excel.
- Experience in building data collection databases for Power BI dashboards.
- Experience in Power BI (advantageous).
- Experience in determining, analyzing, and assessing schedule changes.
- Experience in conducting variance analysis techniques and generating insights and statistics for informed decision‑making.
- Experience compiling multiple parts of monthly reports and coordinating with a large number of stakeholders to close document reviews and comments.
- Solid experience reviewing reports, ensuring consistency and correctness across all parts.
- Experience setting what‑if scenarios in the program for potential variations or claims.
- GCC experience is a plus.
