Project Coordinator
The Department of Chemistry is seeking a highly organized and collaborative professional to lead the planning and delivery of high-impact events and programs that advance departmental priorities. The Events & Program Specialist serves as a project manager for a variety of important initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners to execute engaging student, donor, and industry events. This position also serves as a program manager for administrative, student services, and advancement programs.
The ideal candidate will oversee all phases of event and project management, including planning, budgeting, execution, and evaluation. Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, managing timelines and resources, analyzing outcomes, and continuously improving processes to enhance event effectiveness. This position also manages program budgets, procurement, and financial reporting to ensure responsible stewardship of resources.
This role builds and maintains strong relationships with internal stakeholders, faculty, staff, students, and external partners such as donors, vendors, and industry representatives. The position also contributes to communications efforts by developing multimedia content that supports program goals and enhances audience engagement.
The Events & Programs Specialist is part of a dynamic and supportive team in a culture of excellence. Success in this role requires a genuine commitment to team success, strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, excellent administrative, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a high level of professionalism.
This position has a flexible first shift schedule with some rare early evening and weekend hours. One day of remote work per week is possible after 90 days of employment. Duties are performed under limited supervision, with autonomy in planning, organizing, and implementing work.
The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 up to $75,000 annually for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay within this range will depend on experience and qualifications. Bachelor's Degree required
• Minimum of three years of experience in administration, events coordination, or project management in a professional setting.
• Proficiency with office and productivity software, including spreadsheet and communication platforms.
