Descriptionof Work
- Policy Management:
Develop and update procedures for HR, budgeting, procurement, training and safety activities - Workforce Support:
Advise leadership on staffing needs, structure and workforce planning across the museum - Fiscal Oversight:
Prepare reconciliations, projections and financial reports for museum programs and operations - Program Coordination:
Support gift shop, bookstore, membership and event operations by reviewing goals and processes - Technology Support:
Coordinate IT needs, software updates and point‑of‑sale system improvements - Project Administration:
Manage grants, special projects and communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home part‑time. To telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you may report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable
- One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent federal job title)
- Three years of experience in progressively responsible office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor’s degree
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training
- Six months of experience working in a fast‑paced high‑volume environment
- One year of experience leading technical projects or program management evaluations, preparing fiscal reports with annual budgets and expenses, human resource management, and technology coordination
- You must be able to perform essential job functions
- Experience working with data management systems
- Experience in purchasing equipment and supplies
- Experience providing a range of human resources duties
- Experience in cash flow forecasting
- Experience change management implementation
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
