Position SummaryThe Compliance Administrator is responsible for supporting the company's import compliance activities by maintaining accurate records, monitoring documentation, assisting with regulatory requirements, and ensuring adherence to established import compliance policies and procedures. This role works closely with operations, logistics, customs brokers, and management to help facilitate compliant and efficient import processes across all company locations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and organize import compliance records, documentation, licenses, permits, and related files.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, including ISF filings, HTS classifications, and other applicable import requirements.
- Review import documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to customs entry submission.
- Monitor import transactions and communicate any discrepancies or compliance concerns to management.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews by gathering and preparing required documentation.
- Assist in tracking and maintaining compliance metrics, reports, and key performance indicators.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal departments to obtain and verify required import information.
- Help investigate and resolve documentation errors, customs issues, and compliance-related inquiries.
- Maintain current knowledge of import regulations, company procedures, and industry best practices.
- Assist with employee training by preparing compliance materials and distributing updates regarding regulatory changes.
- Support management with special projects related to import compliance, process improvement, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure confidential and sensitive compliance information is handled appropriately.
Education
- Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in import operations, logistics, customs administration, trade compliance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with import documentation and customs processes is desirable.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) required.
- Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import documentation requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with compliance software, transportation management systems, or customs brokerage platforms preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
