Senior Product Manager – Inventory Management Core (IMC)

Company:
Cox Automotive – Austin, TX (remote work possible). Hybrid or fully remote arrangements available; travel required as needed.

Overview

Cox Automotive’s Inventory Management Core (IMC) team builds the go-to-market products at the heart of vAuto – Provision and Profit Time – that dealers use to manage, price, and merchandise their used vehicle inventory. The Senior Product Manager will own a portfolio of capabilities across Provision and Profit Time, driving discovery, strategy, and adoption from problem identification through delivery and market usage.

Responsibilities
  • Discovery and Product Strategy: Lead discovery across Provision and Profit Time, identify and validate problems with dealer partners, internal stakeholders, and data sources; define personas, map pricing and merchandising workflows, build hypotheses, and test them.
  • Roadmap and Backlog Management: Define and maintain a forward-looking product roadmap, own Epics and Features end-to-end, provide input for PI Planning, and prioritize the backlog to supply the AIT teams with clear, sequenced work.
  • Spec‑Driven Development: Author Discovery Specs and co-author Delivery Specs with Engineering and Design, ensuring measurable acceptance criteria and clear scope boundaries.
  • Connected Workflows & Innovation: Identify opportunities to integrate Provision and Profit Time with the broader Cox Automotive ecosystem, streamline dealer workflows across appraisal, pricing, and merchandising, and deliver differentiated value.
  • AI‑Fluent Product Work: Use Claude Desktop, Copilot, and other AI tools for discovery synthesis, spec drafting, prototyping, and context management; write prompts, build or adapt custom AI skills, and design AI‑powered dealer capabilities.
  • Data‑Driven Decisions: Anchor recommendations in data from Amplitude, Tableau, Snowflake; monitor post-launch performance, identify optimization opportunities, and drive continuous improvement against KPIs.
  • Adoption & Go‑to‑Market: Own the post‑deployment horizon, define full adoption, build rollout plans with support and training teams, and coordinate with Sales and Marketing to create launch readiness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a senior liaison across product, engineering, operations, and leadership, surface status, risks, and wins, and provide recommended paths for off‑track issues.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

4+ years in software product management, 5+ years in end‑to‑end discovery ownership, and a proven track record in scaled agile environments (CAFe, AIT, or similar).
  • AI Fluency:
Working proficiency with AI tools such as Claude Desktop or Git Hub Copilot and strong prompt‑writing skills.
  • Data Literacy:
Comfortable pulling and interpreting data from Amplitude, Tableau, Snowflake, or equivalent to inform prioritization.
  • Technical Familiarity:
Experience with Git Hub Enterprise as a product artifact workspace.
  • Stakeholder Influence:
Ability to influence senior leadership, navigate competing priorities, and lead data‑driven trade‑off discussions.
  • Communication Discipline:
Clear and concise in meetings and writing, tailoring messages to technical or business audiences.
  • Ownership & Bias for Action:
Own the outcomes, not activities, and drive progress without waiting for direction.
  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 4 years of experience, or equivalent combinations such as a master’s degree with 2 years of experience, a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience, or 12 years of experience with no degree.
  • Location:

Candidates local to Austin, TX or willing to relocate will be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Background:
Drug testing required; a drug‑free workplace policy applies.
Compensation

Base salary range $111,600 – $186,000, commensurate with experience, location, and qualification; additional incentive compensation may be available.

Benefits

Paid vacation (unlimited within policy constraints), 7 paid holidays, up to 160 paid wellness hours annually, additional paid time off for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
