Position: Principal Specialist, Global Trade (Remote)

About the Role

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Specialist, Global Trade to own and support export/import licensing and compliance activities across a varied portfolio of programs within the Advanced Technology Strategic Business Unit. The role requires a deep understanding of ITAR and EAR and will work closely with internal stakeholders to prepare, submit, activate and manage export and import authorizations, ensuring timely and compliant transfers of technology, technical data, hardware, and services worldwide.

What

You Will Do
  • Assist with the development of export authorization strategies for marketing, sales, support, offshore procurement, and manufacturing of defense and dual‑use articles.
  • Prepare and submit quality export/import license applications, agreements, eligible exemptions/exceptions, and other USG approval requests.
  • Provide export/import authorization status updates to leadership and capture/program teams.
  • Participate in strategic business engagement at the program level to ensure business execution, growth, and compliance.
  • Provide consistent interpretation of ITAR and EAR to SBU employees.
  • Facilitate approvals for the physical export/import of hardware and other transactional activities involving controlled goods, information, and services.
  • Work with peers and stakeholders to determine and certify appropriate legal authority for exports of dual‑use commodities and technology, defense articles, hardware, technical data, and defense services.
  • Represent Global Trade in meetings and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in implementing company procedures to support compliance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and company policy.
  • Participate in compliance assessments and investigations.
  • Develop and deliver training for employees engaged in international business activities.
  • Review and approve technical and non‑technical information, as needed, prior to release to non‑U.S. Persons.
  • Act as a resource for entry‑level Global Trade personnel.
  • Conduct record management activities periodically.
  • Travel domestically up to approximately once per quarter.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience researching and applying ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • Experience applying for, managing, and transacting against ITAR and EAR export authorizations.
  • Experience with DECCS, SNAP‑R, SAP‑GT, OCR EASE, or similar Global Trade tools and/or systems.

  • Relevant advanced degrees such as Master of Business (MBA) or Masters in International or Legal Studies.

  • A competitive salary range of 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD depending on experience.

Security Clearance
