Education Assistant The Richmond Symphony

What exactly would I do?As the Education Assistant, you will embody the Symphony’s core values of inclusion, passion, quality, innovation and welcoming. You will provide administrative, logistical and program support for the Education & Community Engagement department, with significant involvement in the Youth Orchestra Program. Responsibilities include coordinating rehearsals and auditions, managing registrations and communications, maintaining program data and calendars, and supporting concerts and community events.
Monday & Tuesday evenings throughout the season will find you supporting Youth Orchestra rehearsal; weekends or other evenings may find you supporting performances, or engagement activities across the Richmond area.
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a music background or general understanding of the classical music field strongly preferred. Experience working with youth, educational settings, or arts organizations is a plus. Proficiency in Excel or spreadsheet platforms and experience with registration or database systems is preferred. Availability to work evening rehearsals, concerts and community events is required. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities are key to success.
What’sthe compensation and benefits?
This is a full‑time non‑exempt position with competitive compensation and benefits including health, dental, telemedicine, vision, disability and instrument insurances, a flexible spending or health savings account, flexible paid time off, sick leave, and free parking. A combination of in‑person and remote work is possible. A strong presence and participation at evening and/or weekend events, rehearsals, concerts and other activities is expected.
