Abdul for Senate is seeking talented candidates to work as a Special Assistant to the Candidate for the 2026 election cycle. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to our mission of electing Abdul El-Sayed our next U.S. Senator.

Role Overview:

The Special Assistant to the Candidate is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of the calendar's schedule. This will be a full time position based in Ann Arbor, MI, although there is flexibility with remote work and a relocation timeline. This position offers compensation in the form of a monthly salary and healthcare benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Executing the Candidate's schedule by driving and staffing the Candidate daily
• Working closely with the Senior Staff to ensure goals of the campaign are being met while on the road
• Relaying information from meetings and events to relevant staff as needed
• Maintaining the campaign vehicle as needed
• Other campaign needs as required

Qualifications (Required):

• Driver's license
• Must have transportation to attend events as needed
• Proficiency with Excel and Google Drive
• Willingness to work irregular hours including some nights and weekends.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn new skills and take on new challenges, with a desire to learn and a willingness to ask questions
• Ability to balance between competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail
• Commitment to electing Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate
• Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways
• Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability

Qualifications (Preferred):

• Defensive Driving certificate significant plus
• Experience directly managing/staffing a principal is a significant plus
• Previous experience working in Michigan is a significant plus
