About this Position
Reporting directly to the Director of Product Management, the Product Manager will gather and analyze industry trends and influences, voice of customer data, and stakeholder feedback to establish product roadmaps, strategies, and priorities for product development. This role will also be responsible for vetting and cultivating innovative opportunities, establishing solid business cases and strategies for product concepts, and ensuring successful product launches and sales growth, including product life‑cycle management.
The primary focus area will be the development of hardware, software and digital offers to support growth in the light commercial segment. This is a highly strategic role that requires cross‑functional collaboration and coordination across various businesses, support services and product teams within Carrier commercial HVAC.
- Creating product strategies, roadmaps, and priorities for respective product responsibilities by soliciting and analyzing industry data, voice of customer data, and competitive information.
- Developing business cases and requirements around proposed development efforts.
- Ensuring proper product positioning, messaging, pricing, launch, and long‑term success of the product.
- Evaluating and managing third‑party solutions for make‑vs‑buy decisions.
- Product life‑cycle management.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 7+ years of experience in hardware and/or software product management.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC building & equipment controls.
- 5+ years of experience in a B2B IoT or software company specifically in data/analytics products (digital products portfolio).
- Strong understanding of commercial building systems and equipment applications used therein.
- Team leadership experience.
- Ability to work directly with customers to uncover product needs, opportunities, and problems they are trying to solve.
- Ability to prioritize and plan, driving ideas into product innovations.
- Ability to sift through details quickly and determine what is important.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced exciting environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adeptly demonstrate products.
- Ability to communicate with customers and co‑workers at various levels within an organization.
- Capacity for empathy and the ability to relate to, understand and weigh the interests of a variety of audiences simultaneously.
- Strong and focused team player and a consensus builder.
- Analytical mindset and data‑driven decision making required.
- Excellent computer skills including advanced features of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ideally, this position is hybrid located in Kennesaw, GA, but we are open for remote work within the USA.
- Traveling up to 20% (nationally and internationally).
