Commercial Analyst
Commercial Analyst drives commercial execution, oversees contract workflows, and supports business development by providing market, competitor, and financial analysis across the organization.
Responsibilities- Support in the execution of multi‑team approvals and engagement throughout the sales cycle, including proposal and contract approvals, compliance, and financial accuracy.
- Prepare materials for executive reviews, routine sales pipeline reporting, and client negotiations.
- Maintain internal documentation, playbooks, and process maps to ensure consistency in contract handling and invoicing workflows.
- Assist in building scalable processes that improve BD efficiency, reduce administrative bottlenecks, and strengthen governance.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end contract execution, ensuring all paperwork is complete, accurate, and approved in accordance with internal policies.
- Maintain version control, track contractual updates/revisions, and ensure timely routing through Legal and executive approvers.
- Develop contract summaries for required teams via documents and CRM updates.
- Ensure contract data is properly organized and accessible within internal systems (CRM, document repositories, etc.).
- Manage vendor registration and updates.
- Support Operations and Finance with invoicing based on contractual terms, delivery schedules, KPIs, and meterage/usage data.
- Track and update master sheet on invoicing specifics per contract.
- Prepare data summaries including data storage costs, subscription charges, etc., for invoice preparation.
- Reconcile billing discrepancies by coordinating with Finance, BD, and Operations to resolve issues quickly and accurately.
- Track and report PO consumption to BD and Operations to ensure continuous operations through timely extensions.
- Conduct ongoing research on market trends, exploration/mining activity, budget cycles, and regional economics to support BD strategy.
- Summarize insights into monthly or quarterly BD briefings that inform strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Maintain a structured competitor landscape, tracking product offerings, pricing models, partnerships, and technology differentiation.
- Provide insights on market share, win/loss drivers, and competitive threats/opportunities to BD leadership.
- Support cross‑departmental standardized reports for pipeline health, contract status, invoicing accuracy, and competitive trends via CRM.
- Provide ad‑hoc analyses to support decision‑making for pricing, product bundling, renewals, and growth strategies.
- Identify inefficiencies or gaps in contract execution, approval routing, or invoicing workflows and propose solutions.
- Support implementation of new tools, templates, and automation opportunities that streamline BD processes.
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial, sales operations, or contract‑focused role, with demonstrated comfort working cross‑functionally with Business Development, Finance, and Operations.
- Proven experience navigating procurement organizations, either on the buyer or seller side.
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong commercial mindset to balance accuracy and governance with business priorities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to clearly document, summarize, and communicate across internal teams.
- Self‑starter who is proactive, ownership‑driven, and capable of independently driving projects from initiation through completion.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment.
- Experience in the mining industry or a related industrial sector (e.g., energy, infrastructure, engineering services).
- Multilingual capabilities, particularly Spanish and/or French, in addition to English (please indicate proficiency level on resume).
- Experience supporting end‑to‑end sales or commercial cycles, including market assessment, contract execution, approvals, and invoicing support.
- Experience using Salesforce or other CRMs.
