Our client is a mid-sized engineering firm headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, with an additional office located in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Specializing in engineering, design, project management, and procurement services, they deliver full-service EPCM solutions to clients across the Canadian and international oil and gas sectors.
Their focus and experience have been on pipelines and upstream facilities, now expanding their projects into new areas including lithium and plastic pyrolysis.

The OpportunityThe Intermediate / Senior Document Controller is responsible for maintaining the flow of documentation to the appropriate internal and external parties. They also provide support in managing engineering drawings, specifications, data sheets, lists, vendor and contract documents.
Responsibilities- Monitor project schedule for upcoming deliverables
- Process documentation deliverables during and post project execution, including concurrent engineering situations
- Utilize the DDR to expedite Vendor documentation
- Maintain electronic and hardcopy-controlled documents such as Squad Checks and Master Stick files
- Monitor and maintain documentation markups, quality of all indexes, transmittals, and folder structures and file quality, including revisions and numbering of files
- Maintain a register of all project documents by way of continuous updates of related logs tracking all incoming and outgoing documents and distributing the information to the responsible parties
- Escalate concerns, non-conformances, and issues to department lead
- Attend and contribute to regular meetings within the business and with clients as required
- Ensure integrity of transfer ports
- Support Engineering’s HSE initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
- 5+ years experience in Document Control in North America
- Document control experience in Oil and Gas industry with a general understanding of EPCM documents is required
- Post-secondary education from a creditable university or school is considered an asset
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with an ability to prioritize, multitask and troubleshoot
- Good understanding of electronic document management systems, processes activities, control budget and progress reports
- Project Administration experience would be considered a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail and able to handle complex and sensitive documents
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced in Excel) products and document control software such as Aconex or other document control software
- Creative problem solver, with a commitment to continuous improvement that can define process and strengthen existing procedures
- Strong oral and written English communication skills, working effectively with all levels of the organization/Vendors
