Opportunity

MLT is looking for an Exceptional Advancement Officer, Individual Giving who will be responsible for cultivation, stewardship, engagement, and fundraising for a portfolio of high‑level stakeholders. This impact role systematizes MLT’s approach to engaging stakeholders across various areas of capital, connectivity, influence, and advice. The Advancement Officer will be an integral part of the fundraising efforts of the Advancement team.

Location:
Boston or New York (flexible, with preference for candidates based in these cities; remote work is also possible)

What You’ll Do
  • Manage a portfolio of existing and prospective donors and supporters, including both those where you are the primary point of contact and those where you support another internal lead.
  • Take a holistic approach to engagement that strategically leverages stakeholder time, treasure, and talents in ways that meet MLT objectives and add value to the stakeholder.
  • Represent MLT at donor networking opportunities to identify, cultivate, steward, and solicit donor prospects.
  • Participate in identifying, qualifying, and cultivating a robust pipeline of prospective donors and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute thoughtful, tailored donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans, communications, and materials.
  • Design and drive customized engagement plans that align with MLT’s financial and other goals and deepen stakeholder involvement, enthusiasm, and long‑term commitment.
  • Listen actively to understand the stakeholder’s perspective and engage in high‑touch, audience‑centered communications to build meaningful and lasting relationships.
  • Effectively and collaboratively project‑manage stakeholder strategies, working in partnership with cross‑functional colleagues.
What You’ll Bring
  • 10+ years of professional experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related field (MBA or other advanced degree a plus).
  • Experience identifying and engaging high net worth individuals and senior executives.
  • Experience building and generating revenue through high‑touch, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong ability to lead cross‑functional collaboration and communication, and to actively listen and incorporate inputs from multiple stakeholders.
  • Takes ownership and finds effective solutions with minimal direction.
  • Comfort with CRM systems and willingness to learn and frequently use Salesforce specifically.
  • Proficiency with the Google suite.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience using project management tools such as Asana (a plus).
