Role Description

Melnick Strategies is seeking part-time, entry-level and mid-level professionals to support a range of business-consulting engagements. Responsibilities will vary based on each team member’s experience, professional background, and assigned client projects.

Team members may contribute in areas such as:

  • Business strategy and planning
  • Operations and process improvement
  • Finance, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Market research and business analysis
  • Marketing and communications
  • Human resources and organizational development
  • Governance, compliance, and risk management
  • Government contracting and procurement support
  • Project management and administrative operations
  • Data analysis, technology, and business systems

Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include researching business and market conditions, analyzing financial or operational information, assessing business processes, preparing reports and presentations, supporting client meetings, developing recommendations, and helping clients implement and track improvements.

Team members may also conduct stakeholder interviews, assist with planning sessions, create decision-support tools, and translate complex business issues into clear and actionable recommendations.

These are part-time, hybrid positions that will be performed primarily remotely
. Team members must be available to attend occasional in-person meetings, training sessions, client engagements, or team events in various locations throughout Connecticut and New York.

Schedules, compensation, responsibilities, and work arrangements will be determined based on the needs of each role and assignment.

Team members must have reliable internet access and access to appropriate personal electronic equipment for remote work, including a computer capable of securely performing assigned responsibilities. Additional technology or security requirements may apply depending on the assignment and the sensitivity of client information.

Qualifications

Candidates may qualify through a combination of education, professional experience, military service, technical expertise, or demonstrated ability.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to organize assignments, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Interest or experience in business strategy, operations, finance, marketing, compliance, project management, technology, or another relevant consulting area
  • Comfort using digital communication, collaboration, and productivity tools
  • A client-service mindset and willingness to learn
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, marketing, public policy, technology, or a related field is preferred for some assignments; relevant military education, training, leadership, or professional experience may be accepted as an equivalent qualification
  • Ability to travel occasionally to meetings or events in Connecticut and New York
  • Reliable internet access and access to appropriate personal technology for remote work

Consulting, small-business, government, nonprofit, entrepreneurial, or military experience is beneficial but not required for all entry-level positions. Graduate education and professional certifications, including an MBA, PMP, CPA, SHRM credential, or comparable qualification, are welcomed but not required.

Students, recent graduates, career changers, experienced professionals seeking part-time work, and individuals transitioning from military service are encouraged to apply.
