The Franchise Business Coach is responsible for overseeing specific territories of our 1-Tom-Plumber brand, ensuring the successful execution of goals. This role involves guiding franchise owners in understanding and implementing operational aspects of the business, providing mentorship, and offering strategic direction. By closely monitoring the overall progress of local franchisee businesses and their teams, the Franchise Business Coach supports franchisee growth and achievement.
Furthermore, they cultivate strong, positive relationships between the corporate team and franchisees, fostering a supportive environment where franchisees feel confident and comfortable within the franchise system.
- Act as the primary home office contact for the franchisees.
- Conduct bi-weekly scheduled calls and/or meetings with franchisees.
- The first touchpoint of the month is to check the progress of goals set in the previous month and address any challenges the franchisee may be facing during the current month. This typically is by phone, email, or text message.
- The second touchpoint of the month is designed for a deeper look into the health of the business; operational/financial/staffing/sales activity. Virtual meeting if preferred. To prepare for this meeting, the advisor will review KPI’s from the franchisees P&L and balance sheet including but not limited to;
Top line revenue (YOY, MOM comparison, actual vs budget), percentage of enhancement sales as it relates to their contract maintenance revenue, labor expense as a percentage of revenue, total direct costs as a percentage of revenue, equipment expense as a percentage of revenue and indirect & admin expense as a percentage of revenue. - All activity, touchpoints and documents will be documented timely in Franconnect.
- Collaborate with other home office departments to ensure the franchisee’s business needs are meet. This may include one-on‑one training with a business coach, a member of our accounting team, our marketing department or one of our field support specialists.
- Our business coaches facilitate yearly Peer Group Meetings and encourage the franchisee to attend. These peer group meetings are a great platform for franchisees to share best practices and learn from each other.
- Our business coaches connect with our franchisees during several events during the year. These events may include, 1-Tom-Plumber conference, discovery day, sales training, trade shows and networking events.
- Visit each location every 18 months working toward specific franchisee goals, review the facility/equipment/crews for compliance, inspection of a group of properties to ensure quality standards are being met.
- Our business coaches will assist the franchisee with their budget planning and creation. This will include a sales action plan tailored to the revenue targets set.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Seven years of experience in managing Profit & Loss Statements and other financial reports.
