As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing competitive, accurate, and well‑structured estimates that drive Northedge’s continued success. You will work closely with our in‑office teams, project managers, and field superintendents to ensure precision from bid to build—all from the comfort of your home office.
Key Responsibilities- Lead pre‑construction estimating efforts for assigned scopes of work.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a range of commercial drywall and metal framing projects.
- Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Develop professional proposals that include comprehensive inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- Participate in virtual pre‑bid meetings, site walk‑throughs (as needed), and team collaboration sessions.
- Provide constructability feedback and recommend cost‑effective design alternatives.
- Manage multiple bid deadlines and priorities in a fast‑paced, remote environment.
- Maintain accurate cost databases and historical pricing information.
- Collaborate virtually with internal teams to develop final budgets and project schedules.
- Mentor junior estimating staff through remote communication and shared project reviews.
- 3–5 years of commercial estimating experience specializing in metal framing and drywall.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Demonstrated success in bidding and securing ground‑up and renovation projects.
- Proficiency with The Estimating Edge.
- Strong technical ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and schedules.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills—especially in a remote team setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and digital collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, etc.).
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally for team meetings or project visits (as needed).
