The Role:The Business Analytics Manager is responsible for leading analytical and financial support activities that enable operational, strategic, and regulatory decision‑making across the organization. The role serves as a key business partner to functional leadership in the company, providing financial and operational insights and analysis related to O&M and capital investment performance, budgeting, forecasting, operational metrics, business planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The position will oversee a team that provides development and delivery of reporting, forecasting models, and analytical support for utility operations and informed decision‑making. The Business Analytics Manager collaborates cross‑functionally with operations, finance, regulatory, engineering, customer operations, and executive leadership to improve business performance, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive consistency in analytical processes and data governance.
The role provides analytical leadership and strategic decision support to help leadership evaluate operational performance, resource allocation, financial impacts, and business priorities across the organization.
Day to Day:- Lead the development, coordination, and management of operational and financial analytics supporting utility operations and corporate objectives.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes related to O&M and Capital expenditures and operational performance.
- Develop and maintain reporting packages, dashboards, KPIs, and metrics for leadership and business partners.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Partner with operational leaders to evaluate business performance, resource utilization, and cost management strategies.
- Support long‑term business planning, financial modeling, and scenario analysis activities.
- Lead or support analytical components of regulatory filings, rate case support, and data requests as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on automation, process standardization, and data quality enhancements.
- Develop and maintain forecasting and analytical models used for business planning and operational decision support.
- Coordinate with information technology and data management teams to improve reporting tools, data accessibility, and system capabilities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop analytical staff through coaching, prioritization of work, performance management, and establishment of consistent analytical standards and processes.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, projects, or cross‑functional business processes, including driving accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operational performance measurement practices.
- Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership decision‑making.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to influence business decisions, lead change initiatives, and build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
