VP of Strategy and Operations

Location: Wilmington, DE or Remote – U.S. (Full‑time, Monday to Friday). The role is a strategic operator serving as a close thought partner to the President, bridging strategy and execution. Candidates must have demonstrated success with SaaS‑oriented software transformation projects.

Core Responsibilities
  • President Partnership & Leadership Cadence: Trustworthy collaboration with the President to shape agendas, drive decision quality, document decisions, and ensure follow‑through.
  • Enterprise Planning & Prioritization: Lead annual and quarterly planning; translate strategy into focused priorities, success metrics (OKRs/KPIs), and clear owners; align teams on sequencing, capacity, and trade‑offs.
  • Operating Rhythm & Portfolio Governance: Establish and run the operating rhythm that keeps initiatives on track—portfolio reviews, dashboards, risk escalation, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Cross‑Functional Priority Delivery: Lead high‑impact initiatives that lack an obvious home; create plans, roles, milestones, unblock teams, and drive measurable outcomes.
  • AI, Automation & Operating Model Transformation: Identify friction and inefficiencies; collaborate with Product/Engineering and AI teams to adopt solutions and measure impact.
  • Growth & Special Projects: Evaluate organic and inorganic opportunities (partnerships, product adjacencies, acquisitions); construct business cases, support due diligence, and plan integration.
  • Matrix Leadership: Influence outcomes across Finance, HR, Engineering, Product, Sales, and Operations; build trust, clarify ownership, and maintain priority discipline.
How You Operate
  • Gather sufficient information to understand trade‑offs and decide with speed and judgment.
  • Create momentum—close loops, maintain clarity, keep work moving.
  • Make directional calls in ambiguous situations and adjust as needed.
Required Technical Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 10–15 years of professional experience.
  • Proven track record owning outcomes in a SaaS or software environment.
  • Experience in accounting, fintech, ERP, or GRC software highly valued.
  • Full understanding of AI/automation fluency—translate possibilities into workflows, adoption plans, and measurable impact.
  • Financial acumen—business cases, unit economics, investment trade‑offs; partner effectively with Finance.
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations; diagnose root causes, frame options, drive decisions, and build actionable plans.
  • Openness to up to 50 % travel to Wilmington, DE headquarters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or similar advanced degree.
  • Strategy consulting experience combined with meaningful operating experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, or run functions with priority setting and delivery accountability.
  • Experience leading or supporting M&A transactions and post‑merger integration.
  • Background in FP&A, corporate development, business operations, or a Chief of Staff‑style role.
