Role Description The Business Broker Agent is responsible for assisting business owners and prospective buyers through every stage of the purchase or sale of a business. This hybrid role is based in White Plains, NY, with a mix of on-site client meetings and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day activities include identifying and qualifying potential buyers and sellers, conducting preliminary business valuations, preparing marketing materials and listings, and managing communications between parties to facilitate negotiations and deal structuring.
The agent will guide clients through due diligence, coordinate with legal and financial professionals, maintain accurate documentation, and adhere to company standards of integrity and professionalism. This role also involves building a strong local network, maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities, and consistently representing First Choice Business Brokers’ values in all client interactions.
Qualifications
- Business Brokerage and Brokerage skills to manage listings, negotiate deals, and act as an effective intermediary between buyers and sellers.
- Business Valuation and Finance skills to analyze financial statements, assess business performance, and support realistic pricing and deal terms.
- General Business acumen to understand diverse industries, operational models, and market dynamics relevant to small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities, with a client-focused approach and high ethical standards.
- Experience in sales, real estate, consulting, or related fields is beneficial; prior business ownership or entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment based in White Plains, NY, managing multiple transactions and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience in a commercial or advisory role.
